Williamson County Floods Devastate Texas, Two Missing

Floods in Williamson County where the rain is pouring. According to CBS Austin, their house was swept away and 2 are missing. In Central Texas many areas are flooded.

Many areas in Williamson County are flooded. San Gabriel River water level is at hazardous level due to the heavy rain. People in Georgetown were ordered to evacuate by Williamson County Office of Emergency Management. Roads are flooded and houses are underwater in several areas. Lives are at risk and homes are destroyed.

Rescue is in full swing. In Williamson County Floods 25 have been rescued so far. Unfortunately 2 are missing in Liberty Hill. His house is underwater. Texas National Guard and other rescue teams are working 24/7. They have evacuated hundreds by helicopter and boat. But many are still struggling.

In Kerr County it’s worse. Guadalupe River surged 26 feet in 45 minutes and took 32 lives including 14 kids. Floods in Williamson County and Kerr County are still ongoing. 27 girls are unaccounted for at Christian summer camp called Camp Mystic. This is crazy.

Because of the floods in Williamson County evacuations are happening in many areas. San Gabriel Crisis Center, VFW Post, Holly Street Village, Masonic Lodge of San Gabriel were all evacuated. Many are trapped in water in Burnet County and teams are trying to rescue them. The rain is not letting up.

People are advised to stay away from flood areas. Floods in Williamson County have closed roads and many areas are without power. Warn Central Texas tells people to use alerts to stay updated. In Kerrville some people are filming the floods which is hindering rescue efforts.

I think the Williamson County Floods is a reminder we should never underestimate nature. Despite the community and government working together there’s still a lot to be done. First priority is to find the missing as soon as possible and support the affected families. Texas has been promised federal help by President Donald Trump which is good.
