After the bill passed, Musk said he will now form the America Party to give the people a voice. His party will bring together 80% of the country’s centrists.
Musk launched the idea of the America Party through a poll on X. In front of his 220 million followers, he asked if a new party is needed in the country. 80% said yes. Then he proposed the name America Party which is similar to his America PAC. This PAC has invested $200 million to support Trump in 2024. But Trump and Musk’s relationship has now soured.

When Musk called Trump’s bill “disgusting”, their relationship started to go sour. Trump retaliated by threatening to cut off funding from the government to Musk’s businesses. According to Musk, Trump couldn’t have won in 2024 without him. The America Party was formed because of this fight. Musk said he wants to disrupt the two-party system.
Starting the America Party will be tough. In the US, a new party has to follow different rules in every state. It’s hard for voters to trust a third party. Although Ross Perot got 19% of the vote in 1992, he didn’t win a single state. Although Musk has the funds, analysts say it may take several years for the America Party to gain traction.
According to Musk, the America Party will focus on specific seats in the 2026 midterms. They will run candidates in 8 to 10 House seats and 2 to 3 Senate seats. They will work with both sides. The goal of the America Party is to advocate moderate policies and cut government spending. But Musk has not yet disclosed any plans for the party.
Musk’s idea of the America Party was endorsed by Andrew Yang, founder of the Forward Party. The two-party system has worn out the American people, according to Yang. With Musk, he hopes to add to this party. Yang’s proposal for UBI has been supported by Musk before. America Party will be big if it starts with these two.
