At Ozzy Osbourne’s final Black Sabbath show, Kelly Osbourne and Slipknot’s Sid Wilson got engaged. Sid proposed to Kelly backstage at the one off event at Birmingham’s Villa Park. Let’s get the story on this iconic moment in Sid’s career.
Kelly Osbourne and Sid Wilson, Slipknot’s DJ, have been mates for years. They first met at the 1999 Ozzfest, the music festival run by Kelly’s parents Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. In 2022 their friendship turned into romance and they had son Sydney that year. Kelly was proposed to by Sid Wilson at Ozzy’s final gig which was on July 5th 2025.
The final Black Sabbath show was attended by 42,000 people at Villa Park. Ozzy, 76 and battling Parkinson’s, played his last show with bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. Sid surprised Kelly backstage after the show. Kelly I love you more than anyone else. Will you marry me? she said with a grin.

Sid made a really weird suggestion. You can’t marry my daughter! Ozzy joked. But he and Sharon cheered with delight. Kelly hugged her fiancé as Sid showed Ozzy the ring. The joy of Kelly’s friends and family is clear in the video she posted on Instagram.
Sid and Kelly’s relationship has been strengthened by this. They will now be married after 23 years of friendship. At this point Sid, who is known for his gas mask and jumpsuit in Slipknot, has become a romantic hero. Sidney their 2 year old son shares in this joy too.
The Black Sabbath show was called Back to the Beginning. Metallica, Guns N’ Roses and Slayer were also on the bill. Sid’s suggestion made the night even more special. Kelly said it was the most magical moment of her life. She was also emotional for her dad Ozzy who after all these years played live for the last time.
We’ve known about Kelly and Sid’s relationship for a while. Sid was injured in an Iowa bonfire incident in 2024 and Kelly was there with him. He’s a crowd favourite because of his love and bond with his son Sydney. Sid showed us he’s a good husband as well as a rocker.
